The musical world trip starts with Bossa Nova ("When you got to leave", "Sweet Bitter Kisses" over Country ("Give me Back my French Fries"), Swing ("Any Kind of Music"), Polka ("Russian Breeze"), Irish folk ("Pride of a Gypsie"), gypsy swing a la Django Reinhart ("Limehouse Blues", "Black Eyes"), funk ("Zulu") and culminates in heartbreaking jazz ballads like "What a Wonderful World" and "Don`t make my brown eyes blue".
Unusual instrumentation
As unusually versatile as the Groove Hands present themselves on "Any Kind of Music", so unusual is their line-up. In addition to bandleader Chris Kramer on harmonica and vocals, the Groove Hands have Bernd Kullack on violin, Jens Filser on acoustic and electric guitars, and Wolfgang Engelbertz on upright bass. On some tracks on the CD they are also discreetly supported by the Solingen drummer & percussionist Carsten Steffens.
